Updates & Chesapeake DNA Research in Forbes

Wow! The holidays are almost upon us! Time has flown so fast. I am working on our next series of videos for our blog that will discuss how genetic ancestry testing works. We are going to talk all things mitochondrial DNA, autosomal DNA, Y-Chromosomal DNA, differences between different tests, reference populations, ancestry percentages - the works!! Our video will launch on Monday (12/23) - so keep a look out for her

A few updates about the project:

1. We are getting ready to send the last of our study results for our mail-in sample group! We have just sent out our last batch of DNAs to get sequenced today. We are doing this to verify the GenoChip results so we know they are accurate. Expect emails to be coming through your inbox over the next week if you have not yet received yours already.

2. If you have been having issues printing your results, we have solved the issue! After weeks of going back and forth with our contacts at National Geographic, it turns out that it might be the browser (Chrome) that isn't letting your print out your results correctly. If you are one of those people having that issue, try printing out your testing results on Firefox or Safari - that should do the trick!

3. -- And this is the one I am very excited about --

Forbes has picked up our research looking at the DNA of archaeological persons in 17th century Delaware! This project was my pilot project for this dissertation research, and is another related aspect to the 17th Century Chesapeake Ancestry Project that you are all involved in. Check it out here:

Have a wonderful holiday!
